No no no. Koreans follow buddhism, as does most of China. If someone's saying this in regard to the prejudicial view that Jews hoard money, then that is actually not too far from the truth. I'm an accountant for many Koreans and they have huuuuuuuuuuge sums of money and they only deal with one another, much like the perceived view of wealthy Jewish businessmen. It's rather racist, really.

The Jews are the Jews of the Orient. They do live there also, just as they do in the rest of the world.
Usually when referring to someone as "the Jews" of an area, it means they are the people who are persecuted. If you look at the history of that area, both the Koreans and the Chinese have suffered persecution and domination by others many times in their history.

As a Jew, I can tell you that neither of them are true. I've heard the same thing about the Japanese.
Who said "Jews of the Orient" even exist?

Let us step carefully here.
However, the "Jews of Asia" comment is more often directed at the Chinese, often for the following perceived similarities between them and the Jews of Europe.
First, the tendency of the Chinese to see themselves as Chinese first, no matter which country they live in. They have very strong ties within a pan-Asian Chinese community.
Second, their business acumen.
Third, the resentment that follows when the first two things produce a noticeable financial success for the Chinese.
Fourth, the strong Chinese community ties, some times at the expense of integration with the local community, will often be viewed as a snub to the country of their abode.
Fifth, the Chinese will often be singled out for harsh treatment at times of unrest within these countries. Examples include Malaysia and Indonesia. This is noticeable in these countries as the Confucian Chinese culture is different to the Muslim culture of these other countries.
An example:

religiously, neither is jewish. If you're referring to some antique aphorism implying that jewish people are penny pinchers, only interested in money and would sell their relatives for the right prices, you should get a little history in your head and then wash your mouth out. Koreans and Chinese like the Jewish people have spent centuries living in very poor conditions because of various religious and political reasons. When conditions change, each group jumped at the chance to do well for themselves like everyone else on this planet.

at one time there were 12 tribes of Israel. each one had land and they did as they pleased. then the Assyrians attacked the northern 10 and took all the people and "dispersed" them all over. so there are people looking to "find
the lost tribes. there are all sorts of theories of where they went. some even say that the native Americans are the lost Jews. some say the Mormons are. almost any "different" group found someone will say they are the lost tribes.

Korean Americans strive to work hard and make money. This is a practice of many Jewish Americans. Jewish people have been persecuted throughout history though where as Koreans have a history of war with other tribes.
