I guess that's our come uppins for years of enslaving and conquering. Plus I believe we do it to ourselves. We don't want to seem racist so we don't speak out against the dbl standard. A lot of people seem to think most white people are racist and they try to find reasons to be offended (not all but many).
And phrases like "white boy" or even cracker don't offend me, I think they're kinda funny. But then again I find racial epithets funny in general.
And for all you sensi's out there no, I'm not being racist I'm just sick of people always assuming white ppl have to be 100% PC while everone else can do w/e they want.

The reason why there's even black colleges is because once upon a time blacks weren't allowed into white universities even if they met the standard of those colleges. As for having having your own clubs, holidays, etc. You guys do have that. Ever heard of the KKK? You ever heard of Columbus day? Come on now what other days blacks have besides Martin Luther King Day? Point is i have nothing against whites having their own anything since other races do...what's good for the goose is good for the gander

Because in the past it has been the White people who have been enslaving everyone else.
I know that everything has changed nowdays but for some reason a lot of people can't get over this idea that all white people think themselves better than others. It's not true bu tthere you go. It isn't a double standard, it's natural because of History. I think it would be easier if people just looked past the colour of skin. I had an African boyfriend in the past, but his dad stopped me dating him 'cause he thought i would take advantage of him. I now have kind of the same problem with my Greek boyfriend.
It sucks.

History 101 at any college university is European"white" History. So we have black history month(a whole 28 days 29 in that leap year to learn about all that african americans have accomplished.)
Jim Crow laws caused 2 generations of african americans to believe they were second class citizens. They were told they weren't as smart as the white man. They were told that they didnt deserve the same rights and wages as the white man. So during the civil rights movement the Black Panters shouted BLack Power!
ALL of the major television networks have shows starring and for the most part excluding and african american charaters. So one of ours started BET.
Mexicans have endured it...they have their own station. Japanese have endured it in WWII camps. Muslims have endured it with hated looks after 9-11. All minorities have endured it and not just on a one to one personal basis, but on a level of an entire society putting you down for your heritage. When the white community has suffered what it has put so many other cultures through, when its identity is robbed, its families split, all rights have been taken away, they can form a club.

I understand what you mean, but the double standards stems off from the 1960s of Jim Crow Laws, segregation, and White supremacy.

Because in the past some white people have treated other races very badly for many years. I'm not saying you do, but if white people start to make their own clubs or tv shows, it might look as you are trying to be racist, even if you're not. It's like "you've had your fun now let them have theirs" thing. And maybe you should let other races have their fun, only because some races have been treated badly.

If I had a dollar for everytime this or some form of this question was asked, I would be a rich woman by now.
There is no point in my even trying to explain the reason all of these things have been established for minorities. I believe you already know why.
If you want all this stuff dedicated to White people, then by all means figure out a plan and make it happen. Because this whole "They have it, why can't we" whining is getting old very fast.

ok, no one is saying you can't be proud. I'm sorry but every time I see a white person being "proud" of their culture, the rpide is accompanied by the idea that white culture is better than other cultures. And stop asking for "white history month" and "all white colleges" because this country is built ENTIRELY to accommodate Your needs and Yours tastes.
You know what, who cares, do whatever you want if you think white history month will make you a happier person...

This question is so boring and over used, haven't you noticed it has been asked and answered at least 3 times a day? the answers won't change just because you keep asking. No body wants to hear your hate filled rant disguised as a question.

Why should you feel proud of your culture? What IS your culture to begin with?
All the white people in the US are here because their ancestor's came over, pushed the native people off their land and onto unhabitable plots (killing most in the process but which is hardly ever referred to as the genocide that it was), destroyed the bountiful nature around them, and exploited people whose only "crime" was that they weren't white. Yes, this is truly something for us to be proud of.
Moreover, white people in the US don't have a culture other than that which we've borrowed (read: stolen) from others. This, too, is nothing to be proud of. And, since the vast majority of us are from immigrants, the cultures that we should be celebrating are those from western europe.
And the reason we don't have a "white history month" or an "all white college" is because EVERY month is white history month. The non-white people have, for a very, very long time, occupied the margin of history no matter the very great contribution that they made. Likewise, the vast majority of colleges are STILL, OVERWHELMINGLY white. You don't need an "all white" college because most colleges are mostly white!

There is no double standard, when you understand the foundation of this country, how young of a country we still are, and the history and systems that are was and still are to come. From your stand point it may not seem like a big deal, but when you are apart of the white majority, it never is. Being a black women I get lumped in with every black woman out there, I am told I am the problem on TV, Radio, and other forums. By trusting in God, I have learned to deal with it. God has shown me the battle is not mine, so I back up and let him fight my battles. By doing this, he has given me peace, joy, and a sound mind, despite all things!
God Bless!
