The person at the checkout waits for the last minute to start writing a check?
They're standing there, they know the name of the store, but they can't fill out any of the information till the very end. Don't you just want to choke those people?

Lol. Yes, they hold up the line for everyone. They are completely oblivious as well. They seem like very self-involved people. I almost feel jipped at the check out line because I'm almost always in and out so quick.

The elderly that do this don't bother me. It's the younger folks that do this. (the self-important moms mostly)

There is not a waiting period like there used to be for checks in years past. It's immediate these days so if you have a debit card, use it. It doesn't make a difference.

Not really. What pisses me off at the store is when I still have my stuff on the belt, I'm not even hardly finished and the person behind me starts pushing their damn stuff onto the belt and in the process sometimes they even push the cart into me.
Trust me though, they either take their stuff off of the belt and wait or get out of the line I'm in, but the cart never touches me again when I'm through with them because I tend to push the cart right back into them like oops :D
And oh also the person that stands right behind you likethisclose while you're in line as if that will make the line move faster.

Yes!! I used to work in retail and I got so annoyed when people wanted to write checks out and they couldnt spell the name of the store right or they would put the wrong name. Plastic and cash are much easier than writing a check out but its life. Deal with it right....

Yeah, It does p!ss me off, I wish it didn't but it does. I find those people are the same people who are gripping about the 4 cent difference on their price of apples as well and will argue it until they get the price they want. Arrgh, I'm not a patient person, even taking this long to answer this question is starting to tick me off!

No doesn't really piss me off.. well because I am guilty of suddenly remembering that I wanted to write a check instead of using my debit card.. I am very patient and realize that not everyones decisions are based on what I feel or think about how things should be done..

I figure if you are so pressed for time that a person writing a check at the check out pisses you off.. maybe you should have gotten to the store a little earlier.. I dunno.. but be patient.. we are all only human...

Simmer down buddy. I'm sure that the extra 75 seconds you have to wait aren't gonna kill ya. It may be inconvenient but there are much worse things in life. I hate it when people in line act like they're the only one in a hurry. And I hate it when people point out a flaw in someone else that in actuality reveals a flaw in themselves. You lack patience young grasshopper.

It's frustrating and difficult not to get impatient especially this time of year but I find they are usually elderly folks who do things in their own time and don't mean to be inconsiderate...
Checks should be made obsolete at this point

Hehe, it's a little annoying, but it doesn't tick me off. I'm patient. What really gets me are the cell phones at the check out.
