I've heard exercise is a great way to make you feel happy, when you're feeling blue. Would dancing count?

Yes. I find it helps even better than a regular exersise. If I'm doing something simple and repetitive I can still think about what saddens me. If I'm dancing - I have to stop thinking about that and concentrate on dancing instead.

Absolutely!!! I have recently gone through multiple bouts of illness which have set me back significantly at work and it has also placed a strain on my relationship with my (newlywed) husband. Now that I'm physically better, I still dip into depression and negativity, so when I feel blue, I either grab my balance ball, jump rope, or pointe shoes and head down to the ballroom of our apartment building and pull myself out of my slump.

I guess the endorphins released during exercise not only make you feel better physically, but release a "happy hormone" that in turn lifts your mood. Plus, exercise is good for you!

When my husband comes home and my dance gear is missing, he knows where I am. Sometimes I don't even know he's watching, which is probably for the better, since I'm dancing for myself from my heart. The expression I can show through my dance can be more effective in communicating what I'm feeling than words ever could. It helps not only me, but us as a couple.

AND... I usually get a foot rub out of it. ;-D

Yes! Exercising releases endorphins, endorphins make you happy! So since dancing is a type of exercise, it makes you happy. Dancing comforts me and cheers me up. When I dance, I feel happy and feel as if there's not a trouble in the world!

YESS! it works so well to make you feel better or forget what is making you sad! Put on some upbeat music and dance in your room you'll feel better instantly... or even taking a lyrical or modern, contemporary dance class that is a great way to express your emotions that you are feeling through song and movement!

actually dancing is a form of exercise and since your body releases endorphins when and after you exercise you feel happy in better spirits good about yourself etc.

yes ! dancing is an exercise! it makes u feel happy cuz when u dance u produce a substance called emhofino or endorfine (wateva) and that makes u feel happy. when u eat chocolate it makes u grow fat and feel happy at da same time!

yes, i definitely agree with that because it's a fun, nonviolent way to let your stress out. when you are on a dancefloor and you feel the music dancing just comes natural and you feel so much joy and happiness when you're moving, dancing, and swaying!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Definitely. dancing helps me forget about everything and just throw my whole self into it. I leave all my problems at the door when i come to the studio.

oh yeah!
I LOOVE to dance&I almost always am :]
&it makes me feel awesome.
if I've had a bad day at school or something like that, I just go home, turn on my music&DANCE!
its the best :D
