Okay, So I'm getting fake nails tomorrow, But i still don't see the difference between acrylic and gel? How long does it take for the salon to put them on for you? What's the process like? If anyone has any idea, could you please help out? Thanks =)

Tips and overlays are faster than gels. A really good manicurist can put on a set of tips in 10 minutes (most nail techs. will take longer, though, about 20 minutes). My wife's record time for a full set -- buffed out, is 8 minutes.

Gels have to cure under the UV lamp -- there is no speeding that up.

I'd go with the tips and overlays for your first time. They are easier to work with (for the nail tech./manicurist).

The nail tech. will pick out the proper sized plastic tip for each of your fingers and glue them on to the tips of your fingernails using super-glue. Then the nail tech will apply a small amount of a chemical with a small brush to your nail to etch away some of the smooth surface so the acrylic will stick.

She will ask you how long you want the tips, so figure that out ahead of time. Don't get them too long if you are not used to long nails, because you'll end up breaking one or more of them doing something ordinary.

The nail tech. will then mix a powder and a liquid together on a small paintbrush and pat the wet mixture down onto your nails. This wet mixture is the acrylic and hardens within a minute or so. The acrylic connects the plastic tip to the bed of your own nail, and smooths over the glue-joint.

The nail tech will then file down the acrylic so it is very smooth and looks like your own natural nail. A really good tech. can apply the wet acrylic properly with the brush so she doesn't have to do much filing.

Acrylics Nails Are Thicker
Gels Are Thinner And More Natural Looking
Acrylics In My Experience Are Better Because They Last Longer And Gels Just Make My Nails Brake Really Far Down Eventually
I Usually Spend About 45Minutes In The Salon But I Get A Design Painted On My Wedding Finger And The Other One On The Same Side With Diamonds, You Most Likely Will Be Offered This But Some Salons You Have To Ask, It Does Not Cost Any More To Get This At The Salon I Go To I Pay £25 To Get Them Done, For The Acrylics Its Definately Money Well Spent.
They Sit You Down, Clean You're Nails With A Cotton Pad And Nail Varnish Remover, File The Nails (They Will Ask If You Want Them Square Or Round), Then They Push Down And Remove Some Cuticle (Although I Have Often Went In And Not Had This Done, Perhaps You May Not Need It) Then They Take The Same Pad As Before And Wipe The Nails, They Then Paint You're Nails, I Was Fascinated When I Got This Done For The First Time Because I Thought It Would Be Special Nail Varnish But They Use A Very Thin Paint Brush, You Have To Keep Putting You're Hands Under The Blue UV Light So They Dry, That's When They Will Swap You're Hands Over To Do The Other One, The Best Bit About These Nails Are They Don't Get Ruined Quickly/Easily Or With Water, Like The File And Polish, They Are Great! Good Luck Hope You're Really Pleased With The Results (:

gels are a hypo allergenic product that is the main diff between thw two. other then how they look and the price. if you whear polish go with acrylic b/c gel nails are non porus and polis takes FOREVER to dry on them. how long it takes depends on the tec who is doing your nails. the process is about the same but gels are like a sticky gel that has to cure under a uv light to harded on your nail. and your nail doesnt breath on your nail bed they breath behind where your skin is. acrylic is a liquid and powder that when it drys will harden. if you need more info try creativenaildesign.com

Gels are better for your nails because they let them breathe more, and if you want to keep your natural nails or try to grow them after you get the fake nails off then get gels. Acrylics are what most people get because there cheaper and easier to get filled. Downside is acrylics are really bad for your nails, and will prob make them look pretty weird for a while after you get them off.

The gel lasts longer, and is more expensive. Its a gel coating that they put over the acrylic, not one or the other. I always have acrylics on, i love them, had em for years! It takes a good hour for your nails to be put on. The process is easy, usually they will file ur real nails down first, then buff them, then put ur tips on, then cut them to the length u want, then put a toner on ur real nail to give a natural color. They then will put the acrylic on, which takes time, they have to shape it to ur real nail shape, then they buff them, file them, trim them, have u wash ur hands, then they will color them or whatever u want. they dry for 3-5 minutes and ur done.

The Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV) defines premature ejaculation as a persistent or recurrent ejaculation with minimal sexual stimulation before, on or shortly after penetration and before a person wishes. Wow, that’s not a sexy definition. Personally, I define it as you come quicker than you or your partner wants. Luckly this is a great solution for premature ejaculation https://tr.im/533f4
