Plug in the device, and you'll get a warning if you plug a 2.0 device into a 1.1 slot.

well lets say you tried to plug a USB 2.0 device into a 1.1 port...an message will come up on the screen, letting you know that the device will operate slower since you are plugging it into a slower USB port.
That's one way.
Also, like other people are saying, if its an older computer with 6 ports, they are likely NOT usb 2.0

you have SIX usb ports? i only have 4, and the two in the front aren't it, so the one that's in the back, on the right side, the farthest to the right, is the usb 2.0 port.

If you have a computer that has usb 2.0...then they should all be 2.0. Unless it was an added PCI card or whatnot. they should all be the same.

USB 1.0 AND 2.0 CANNOT EXIST ON THE SAME CHIP ...SO BASICALLY IF ONE IS 2.0 THEN ALL ARE 2.0

Either all ports will be USB1.0 or they will all be USB2.0. Older systems were 1.0; new systems are 2.0.

Usually when you plug something into it, it will automatically be added to your windows explorer list. You can use trial and error to figure out which port is which.

right clik on my computer, then left clik on properties, left clik on hardware, then clik on device manager, go to the bottom and clik on the universalserial bus controller, ther will be a few to choose from, you can use something with a usb plug to see which one is on, and which are off, you can turn whichever ones on you want
