No- eternal life is always eternal, but our eternal position can be covered, due to illusion. For example- We are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies.
This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We fell here due to envying Gods position. He made the material world for those who want to try to live separately from Him (Which is impossible because He is actually everywhere). After many lifetimes of trying to be happy in this temporary world one becomes frustrated and board and begins to question their existence. We then seek out real happiness, and when one becomes sincere God reveals how to come back Home. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) which begins with the chanting of the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion), which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life they can give up all material attachments and fully surrender to God and return to the eternal Kingdom, where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. I am an eternal spirit soul and loving servant of God. I choose my constitiutional position now. I'm going home this time.

The Bible says that the soul that sins, dies [to that extent].

What continues after passing on from the screen of life, is soul energies which "keep the Word," i.e., are demonstrating Life, Love, Truth, Mercy, Purity, Mind, and other Qualities of One Mind Soul, God.

The inner child is the soul. Those moments and memories of love, kindness, joy, trust, are examples of keeping the word, at least in part. As the parents raise up the Child in Grace, as Jesus was raised, the childman remains Childlike ("Abba," Daddy") but not childish, infantile.

This is the Way Christ Jesus shows and Teaches.

Contemporary, even post-Christian era, authors, who are considered worthwhile, include Mark Prophet, "Climb the Highest Mountain," Ann Ree Colton, "Watch Your Dreams" and "Men in White Apparel," O. M. Aivanhov, "Light Is a Living Spirit," and others whose lives show wisdom, e.g. Martha Beck, "Expecting Adam," Free and Wilcock, "The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?", "When Invisible Children Sing," Dr. Huang, "Life before Life," Jim Tucker, M.D.

An important point is to champion one's inner child's divine right to Love, be Truthful, and the like. This is ad-ult ("to the Ultimate") behavior (Be-having).

cordially,

j

If life is eternal it follows that it can neither be gained nor lost, nor gained and lost. And ignorance due to the coverings surrounding a fact leads only to delusion, not to the nullification of the fact.

You are an eternal empty vessel. But not eternally empty. Life allows one the opportunity to fill up with whatever makes you happy. If you love to hate you will fill up with hate and if you love to love you will fill up with love. Either way, as you sow, so shall you reap.

more simply put -

define life. when does life start and when does life end?
consider if it actually does either.
here we are defining life by what we think it does, does life necessarily "do" anything?

as far as what you are, we define ourselves in much the same fashion. we define ourselves by what we do and what we remember ourselves doing. but that's doesn't describe what we are, only our actions.

how can you gain or lose something if you don't know what it is?
