LCDs do not suffer from burn in like CRTs do, but they can suffer from something called image sticking which is very similar.

When CRTs get an image burnt in the phosphors on the screen get worn. This is permanent and there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Image sticking comes from a build up of charge in the LCD panel from having the same image on the screen all the time. This charge remains after the image changes and effects the LCD material, leaving a ghost of the image. Unlike a CRT burn in there is no permanent damage. Leave the screen on with a black screen for a while and it should fade away.

Burn in occurs when you leave a particular screen on the computer for a long period of time. To solve it replace the monitor and use a screen saver to prevent it.

Good Luck

You can replace the front glass. But then that might be too costly or take too much time.
