The Bible says "A merry heart does good like a medicine." Scince says that by smiling, seratonin is released into your blood stream that creates a happy disposition.

Laughter is definitely a healthy activity. It apparently raises for a time some key endorphin levels, so a happier disposition would result.

"Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton,
"Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet,
"Expecting Adam," Martha Beck (hilarious in parts) are good reads.
