there is just so much to be cynical about!

people are cynical because there are so many nasty, mean, obnoxious cruel people out there. and they didn't get any love from the family. there are too many multi income families. there is no one home for the kids. even the older kids need to know that there is some one around that loves them unconditionally. the adults are out "working so that they can have a better life" well life isn't just "things" showering the kids with Christmas junk wont make them happy longer than it takes for the stuff to get old. then ma and pa are out partying they have to "network" to get ahead to make more money to try to buy the kids. but the kids are getting into gangs to find some one who accept them. to be with them everyone wonders why kids hang out well they are being with a real live person not an Ipod with a recording of mom and dad saying how much they love you but.....for the family. kids would probably be happier if they had less stuff, smaller house but mom and dad would play with them. ( how bout some catch?)

No one begins life being cynical. One learns it from the social environment. When one attends school and sees other students not doing as well on tests, but wind up getting better grades; when some one hits that person, and the person being hit gets blamed; (same situation when being involved in a car crash); when one tries to the best of his/her ability, but it just isn't good enough...
Well, you get the picture. These things are what makes a man a "crusty old man" when he ages.
Yes, life is full of good people and good things happening.\
Unfortunately, ONE BAD APPLE SPOILS THE LOT.
Every time some one calls my name, I cringe, expecting some more foul-mouthed person yelling at me!

I am cynical because my mother was cynical. Society makes us cynical. It's to protect us.

They are either raised to be that way or something happens in life that takes all of the hope out of them. They stop having faith in anything and don't believe that anything good can ever happen. It's a very sad thing.

i read in someone's psychology book that too much IDEALISM in childhood leads to cynicism.
if your expectations are so high reality can never live up to them ( like if you follow the stuff in books like The Secret) depression, pessimism, or cyncism is sure to follow in a few years.

Far too much bitterness in their lives. They have forgotten how to embrace lifes little pleasures...I should know I work with alot of them...
