i was recently cast as the kitchen wench and the Nightengale of whatever it is... hah. just wondering if anyone has any information on about how large of parts these are, like how much they're seen and stuff. a friend told me that to recieve the part of the Nightengale is a huge compliment, because she supposedly has a really hard solo. let me know, thanks!

It's been a while since I've seen this. I don't recall anything about the kitchen wench, but your friend is right about the Nightengale. That is a great feature role for a strong soprano voice.

the kitchen wench is just a person who hangs around the kingdom. in the version i was in, she didnt have any lines. the king often chases her around. the nightingale is a magical little bird who comes down in a cage and sings a song. no words really just like this la la la la la la.... its only la's but you have to be able to go really high and low. hope i helped!
