An individual who is controlling, paranoid and untrusting, narcissistic and spiteful would be classified as what? Sociopathic? Psychopathic?

Ok. More info. The individual in question is obsessive about the sexual past of his partner, asking the same questions over and over, gets extremely hostile when she wants to be social without him, feels a need to be in control, feels superior and is condescending and patronizing, and is physically violent with his animals. I;m beginning to think Narcissistic Personality disorder?

borderline personality disorder?

edit: or perhaps antisocial personality disorder, but really it's a mixed bag of nuts...;)
edit II: that abusive stuff you describe is more typical of antisocial personality disorder, possibly even sociopathic (BTW, sociopathic is NOT psychotic as another poster described - it is merely a person who has issues with authority figures, gets into confrontations often physical with other people, cons others (read: manipulates/uses), disregards the rights of others, lies, and generally has criminal/borderline criminal behavior).

This behavior signifies a control freak and it is time for her to end this relationship before this guy goes off and hurts someone.

This is not the kind of person anyone should be involved with. I have seen men like this who ended up being physical abusers. Only a matter of time.

Sounds like Borderline Personality Disorder but could be a combination of many negative things going on.

Psychopathy is loss of contact with reality. Sociopathy is a break with the accepted mores of society. This is neither, just a personality disorder, if you have included a full list of symptoms.

but really... you'd need more info than just what you have listed... specific behaviors.. are there rituals.. the extent of the traits you have listed.. that sort of thing.
