It makes me think of me when I took speech class I would say it a lot in my speeches because I was so nervous and I would say um a lot too. I've gotten a lot better since then that was 5 years ago.

it depends. if they're talking a mile a minute, i just look at them like, "what the hell are you talking about?"
DAMN, I said it. I say like a lot. So, I understand. Just don't have an annoying valley girl voice and no one will think of you as ditsy.

Not ditsy - just a meager vocabulary and a tin ear.

No, they just have an annoying habit. My daughter's studying to be a pharmacist, carrying a 3.8 GPA and she says it all the time...drives me nuts!
To people who don't know her though, she probably DOES sound ditsy...I try to get that across to her so she breaks that habit.

Stupid fad that started a while back. I think it makes the person stupid or look stupid. "OMG! Did you see her hair? Like it was like so fuggly." Obviously this person can't speak a correct sentence. Hope they don't get very far in society.
Ditsy? I guess. A person who is flighty and easily confused; mildly or harmlessly eccentric.

I say like a lot and I'm not bubbly or anything.
It's just a part of some peoples everyday speech, kind of a force of habit. People don't have to be asshoIes about it. Just like saying "Oh" and "Um," a lot.
And I'm so glad dumb people gave me thumbs downs for my reasoning for using the word like a lot. You can say you don't have the vocabulary of young dumb teeny bopper, but you definitely have the mentality of one.
