I have a Lucky Bamboo plant that is growing like crazy and would like to share it with friends if possible. How can I start one from mine?

One way to do it is to cut off the growing top of one cane just below the node. Notice how the stem has spaces or nodes like your fingers have joints? Make the cut just below one of those and set it in water. Your original plant will shoot off a new stalk right below where you cut and you can repeat the process when you get a new stalk.

If you want to make many of them you can chop up an entire stalk into 1 1/2-2 inch segments then pot them up.

Make sure you use a clean and sharp instrument.

Whack them and plunk them in clear containers of water.
