Your point is well taken. Mark Foley disgraced himself but it is a stretch to put it all on the Republican Party. The news media inferred a lot of allegations that have never been proven. The point should have been to weed out Foley and maybe even Hastert but blaming the whole party was over the line.
It is hard to pin stuff on the Democrats because they lie under oath. Clinton put a hand on the bible and lied to the American public and was never held accountable. You may not like everything Bush does, but he keeps the same story before, during, and after his actions.

Mark Foley was reported on for a long time after the election. It is no longer an issue, since it has been replaced by other issues like Senator Vitter's prostitutes and Senator Craig's homosexual affairs and propositions.

The big thing about Mark Foley was not his preying on young boys, but the fact that the entire Republican leadership knew, aided, and evidently approved of his behavior.

Are you saying that lies and sexual immorality on the part of politicians are not newsworthy? If we can impeach a Democratic president for having a consensual affair, why is child molestation on the part Republicans, and the cover up of the same, not uneven newsworthy in your eyes?
