Media reports of the day listed the Communist PLA woes of the early 1990's due to Communism's historically proven failed economics and a nearly bankrupt central government. Boots for every other soldier, guns for half their men with only 5 BULLETS PER GUN, no real navy and precious little effective air forces. Command was antiquated as were communications, nuclear capacity and field armor with moral tanked due to nonpayment of salaries throughout the conscripted service of the PLA. The student uprising of 1989 by unarmed citizens seeking liberty nearly defeated the PLA but was brutally repelled with an excess of 10000 murdered students in the streets of China's capital. Point is the people nearly won. 1994 saw the realization of the dream of capitalizing from tyranny while undermining freedom and avoiding living wages by a small group of Arkansas traitors when Clinton, acting as a WMT lawyer while President of USA, extended "favored nation" trading status to the enemy of liberty.

No, Wal-Mart did not save Communism.

1. Communism is not China, it is a theoretical political system that has yet to be enacted on any large scale.
2. The PLA is not Communism, the PLA is China's army, so whatever troubles they have faced hardly reflect successes or defeats for Communism.
3. The student uprising in 1989 did not "nearly [defeat]" the PLA, though it did shake the Chinese government.
4. It is easier to exert influence over a foreign government when you are one of their important trading partners. If you refuse to trade with them, they won't care what you think of their politics.
5. Wal-Mart? What are you talking about?

Please get your facts straight, learn to present a cogent argument, and try again.

Response to C H:

I am well aware that Wal-Mart sends a lot of money China's way by purchasing goods from Chinese companies. David Michael, however, did not mention this once in his question/rant, so I was really just asking him to elaborate and explain his position.

Furthermore, even if the "PLA Army is mandated by Communist China," as you put it, that doesn't mean that they can or should be equated.

you have a semi-valid point

Walmart did NOT save communism, but the granting of favored nation status probably did.

WalMart gets goods from all over, not just China, but many companies besides Walmart get goods from China.

The economic boom the China is currently in,which allows them to rebuild there military, is indeed a direct correlation to the business they do with the US based on favored nation status.

And of course that status came after the PLA gave the Clinton Campaign massive financial contributions.

Like many i wanted Clinton impeached, not for that ridicules affair, which for a sitting President was amazingly stupid, but for the treason of selling our economy out to China for campaign monies.
