Hmmmmm some good answers! I live here in good old Roswell. I have all my life and it never was a thought on most peoples mind till the 50th aniversary rolled arround in 97. After that they saw a pretty good opportunity to make a buck arround here selling that story to tourists. But another story is known to the locals arround here. One that involved a more sinister story than you can imagine. Some believe the Army was using mentaly disabled children from an orphanage here to test the effects of altitude on the body. They were strapped in and sent up in a bell type chamber, and you guessed it, a high altitude balloon. Early mylar they say. Stuff does look like tin foil that holds it's shape. At the wreckage, they found the bodies of the kids, cept now there heads were swollen, skin grey, and eyes as big as saucers do to the allitude and preasure.

We, as a species, believe what we wish to believe. I believe we need to maintain open minds and not strive to believe. Science is about not believing, but finding the evidence to support or debunk an idea -- no matter what the idea is.

So, I believe in the Roswell scenario as much as I do in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, King Richard the Lion Heart and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But I keep an open mind and, perhaps, when we have the sort of hard evidence required, one way or the other, I'll stash it in my "Okay" file.

Bill Clinton couldn't even keep his tryst with Monica Lewinsky a secret.

There's no way the government could keep a UFO crash a secret.

On the other hand... the hypothesis that aliens have been among us since the late 40's would naturally lead to a further hypothesis that some might have risen to positions of political power in this country by now, and this sub-hypothesis is supported by empirical evidence, and would go a long way to explaining the madness that we all see in headlines every day.

Yes. Definitely. It's being kept secret pending notification of next-of-kin, which might happen in another ten years or so at current interstellar speeds and distances.

As fun a story as it makes, no I don't.
Roswell is a place where they have tested classified aircraft for decades. They were testing dummy's freefalling from space for ejection seats from high altitude balloons, and they were packing up the dummies when some idiots saw them.
All the bat-wing fighters now being flown would have looked like UFO's to anybody 30 years ago, and actual hovering disc craft were tested by the US in the 50's. They probably buzzed around some airliners as a joke.

Yes! I believe that a UFO crashed near Roswell NM in 1947. I think that the evidence is overwhelming and factual. The only people not talking is the US government. Even with the freedom of information act they still refuse to share what they know.

it would want to no longer were a climate balloon, yet genuinely some type of attempt device for prime-altitude spying over the U.S.. undergo in concepts, this change into around the start of the chilly conflict and we were basically then coming up with approaches to "beat" the Soviets. also, the authorities beloved the perception of human beings wondering that there change into some type of extraterrestrial pastime probable occurring there. That allowed them to do even if experiments they needed on secret agent or transportation gadgetry, each and each of the even as blaming the pastime on UFOs, and the regular public ate it properly up.

I believe where there's smoke, there's always fire of some sort.

We'll have space/time travel in the future. Maybe it was just CPT Bob after a hard night at the Officers' Club crashing in his time machine instead ; )

UFO's were created by our own government and weren't suppose to be found out due to the impact of experiments conducted. Oops!

SOMETHING happened and with governmental protestations to the contrary, I feel that a UFO did crash there (and there have been many more crashes as well)
