This is the central issue I will be voting on. It affects my family directly and I am sick of NO ACTION by the federal government. They talk about it until they are blue in the face but will they do anything, no. Meanwhile the problem continues to grow and when we try to address it on the state or local level we get overruled by the federal government saying immigration is their domain. But then they continue with the status quo which is obviously not working. So this is the issue I am voting on... wanted to hear if anyone feels the same or if not, which issues you feel are more important...

Immigration is another issue being polluted every day by special interest groups. What part of illegal is hard for our government to understand? My wife and I went through the process legally, why cannot other groups be expected to do the same? Please do not get me started,...

No, not me.
This is a wedge issue, same as gay marriage and abortion.
The current President promised during the last 2 elections to outlaw gay marriage and abortion, no surprise to me he has done nothing after elected.
It is simply not in his power to do so.
Thankfully.

The congress is in charge of immigration Law, thankfully The Presidents Amnesty agenda was defeated, and it would be again no matter who The President is.
The only "fix" to illegal immigration is to enforce laws already in place, and enforce the border, and ports for that matter.
This is not done by cutting money for The Border Patrol and port security, but by increasing the number of Patrol Agents.
The Border Patrol needs more trained agents who are allowed to and will enforce the law without being imprisoned for it. They need operating vehicles, currently only one third of the cars, trucks, planes, and helicopters work, this is not good. Having the Borders and Ports patrolled thoroughly and efficiently would also do much to stop the flow of drugs, and possibly weapons as well as people into The USA illegally.
This would be a more useful deterrent than a "fence".
This would also deter those who come and go at will, how many would come to The US illegally knowing that returning home with money, would be as difficult as coming in to The US?

Nobody seems to want to address this, none of the front runners, or even past Presidents seem to see the easy solution. Immigration reform is secondary to border control.
Therefore immigration is not a real issue in the upcoming election in my view.

It is at the top of my concerns on the domestic issues. When elected officials advocate more strenuously for illegals than for their constituents, I am VERY concerned. Did you know that Medicare is paying for some illegals when they are admitted to hospital?
I don't know about you, but that affects me directly when I'm told the premium for Part B is being raised and the fee schedule to hospitals and other health care providers is being reduced.
Isn't it about time we pulled the plug on ANY AND ALL taxpayer funded programs used to support illegals? If they shouldn't be here to begin with, why does anyone think they are entitled to taxpayer dollars?
Also, "birthright citizenship " MUST end. A baby born here should inherit the mothers status, period. This country is not and cannot be responsible for illegals who come here because they are not happy at home and fail to see it is their responsibility to stay home and FIX their country.
It would be interesting indeed if the Feds deducted the cost of our support of illegals from the foreign aid sent to the most offensive countries that do practically nothing about stemming the flow of illegals across our boarders.

no longer in the presidential election and not in the vast majority of the congressional elections. despite if the democrats and republicans the two have susceptible applicants, that's nevertheless unlikely. The device, the activists, the infrastructure, each and every thing is desperate up for 2 events. There could must be a wealthy, or truly good fundraising candidate, that appealed to a fabulous variety of people. that's a threat, yet i does no longer assume it.

The central issue in MY estimation is character, aka, honor -- and NONE of the candidates from EITHER party have any of this most valuable attribute. Therefore, I will be writing in someone else. It is my right, as it is YOUR right, to vote for whomever you choose, not just the party-conscious lemmings put forth by our pseudo-leaders.

I'm sure that by the time the election rolls around illegal immigrants will be allowed to vote and I'm sure they will all have immigration as an important priority.

To me, the overhauling or removal of the tax code is important. Illegal immigration is a close second however.
