Sure. Anyone who hasn't been fired at least once probably hasn't worked much. Making mistakes and paying the price is all part of growing up. Not a pleasant experience at the time, but it turned out to be more inconvenient than tragic.

I wasn't tech. fired, my hours were cut with the understanding that I wouldn't be getting any more.

It was a shop that sold hair products and I was a seasonal worker. After one terrible night where $2000 of our $3000 day was done in my 4 hour shift, I was told the store was a wreck and the manager was disappointed with me, ect. I didn't understand because I had managed to straighten up the selves, put out new shipment, and vacuum the floors.

Then I found out that the manager had hired a new full-time person and needed my hours to give to her. So I was basically fired so that someone else could have my hours. Since it was a seasonal job, I really didn't care.

I've never been fired...but I did get "let go" due to corporate downsizing, along with 7 other people in the department. I think that was worse, because we were all good employees.

Twice.

First time was when I took on a job for which I knew I was not really qualified and tried it anyway, when I could not hack it I was let go.

2nd was a temporary job that I did not like and actually therefore could not perform well doing it--I was glad when they let me go.

Conclusion if you do not like it or if you know you can't do it GET OUT !

Yes-Wal-Mart cashier....the CSM made me stay late to clean, and I told her that was B.S. if she wanted me to clean, she should have pulled me off the register earlier. Next day she wanted to talk to me, so I walked out. I was called back only to get fired....LOL....that job sucked anyway.

Yes, a store, because of nepotism and something that looked worse than it was (and not my fault). It ended up being a win-win, they got who they wanted and I ended up in a new job that was much better for me and led to something even better.
