No. I do not expect that. However if you are happy you will attract those who are also happy. The difficulty is in discerning who just wants to take and not give. The way you can tell is by observing their actions. Just observe the way they act when they are in a restaurant and the way they treat the busboy or the waiter. Does he look in their eyes and really thank them for pouring the water or does he look irritated when they are late in serving? How do they treat the people around themselves? Many people are at their best behavior when they are with others but the moment they are alone then they will act atrociously. They are careless and unforgiving. Another good example is how they act in a grocery store or supermarket. After using the cart does he return the cart to the appropriate place? Or does he move it to the side? These behavioral queues tell a lot about that person's character. I know your question was about expectations but I just wanted to add a few more tidbits because your question seemed to be talking about happiness also.

Thank you for your question

Yes, I do, I have been very fortunate that circumstances have presented themselves in my life that have given me happiness and possibly saved me from much grief. You can plan all you like or try and make the best decisions based on what you think or feel at the time, but things seem to come at you unexpectedly to change it. I have experienced a lot of the future where someone or something has brought both good and bad results. Based on this I believe there are a lot of unknowns waiting for us tomorrow, and they may bring that happiness, or deliver us from pain.

Happiness comes from what you invoke within yourself. Balance comes from what you harmonize within yourself. And nothing can save you except for what you bring outside of yourself. Nothing external from you can can bring these things to you, they can be catalyst, but can never require these things for you. If it comes in any other way, its an illusion.

So I feel from one perspective that it is an illusory expectation, one that can bring suffering as it will invoke limitations upon you, as well as be an attachment which can cause complacency. BE the change want to see, BE the happiness you desire.

However from another perspective of the yin/yang, we can truly only become complete by our opposite polarity, i.e. male and female. Everytime I seek to answer it becomes like this, because each perspective is equally true.

Rena, I have illusory expectations from GOD and my own actions only. As for the former, I have full faith that HE would never ever make me take any actions for which I may have to regret later and as for my actions I always feel and stay committed to them for any reaction or result , honestly and ever willing to be responsible for any corrective measures, mend ways to stay as happy as I was when I took those decisions. Soo... that way any additional happiness that comes along is big BONUS.

Thanx for the Q, u have helped me reassure in my belief and one of my strengths.

'No, sober expectations. 'The reality that there does come those who help us as a part of our undertaking and exchanges amid social intercourses, and that I should be prepared -- without equivocating -- to accept those opportunities as they arise, yet not be solely opportunistic as to ever seek first to hold a high ground.

We do not know, however, with any assurety that our sobrieties are completely free from illusions. This is good and is a vantage point in itself, because it ensures that miracles can be; it helps avert probabilities of fooling ourselves into thinking we should or could be wholly in control, that there is something out there to call us to the alert: 'that', we may expect...

There is to be somewhat vigilance about our courses, our hands need just that mildest of tremor, for which a greying is indicated, comes a wrinkle, the distemper, a readiness.

The future is yet a blank canvas
to be written on by the unbalance of self.
To live moment to moment the future itself is not the contemplation.
My life is abundant and full of Gods grace.
There is nothing to save, and my happiness is within and not conditional on outside "influences"

Bright blessings

Somewhere in the back of my mind, yes.
Don't ask me who or what it may be, but yes.

I don't think I'd ever admit to it if you asked me on the street, though. I guess it's the idea that maybe one day I'll figure out something that makes everything click into place with such little effort, like something you should have figured out before then or thought about but never took all that seriously.
You never know.
Anybody saying they *do* know is either gifted, lying or doesn't quite have it as figured out as they think they do.
At least, that's my take on it.

No. I know that there are people who have money, nice things, etc. that are miserable, and there are people who have very little that are happy. Usually people are either happy people - who are pretty content no matter what life throws at them - or unhappy people - who are never happy and complain no matter what good fortune they have. I don't want to be the latter. I'll never be completely satisfied though, and I'm fine with that, because that is what drives me to achieve more, work harder, and better myself.

That expectation was destroyed a long time ago, but there is family to sustain my life if you can call that living with pride....lions could. Independence is equal to the amount of personal magical power at your command.

Never that. Every man/woman controls their own destiny. Of course their are always difficult circumstances for everybody (not for some though), it is the path you take that gets you to where you want to be in life that is the real trick.
