Craig Ferguson's Between the Bridge and the River. If you have seen this guy on late night TV and loved him, the book will have you ROTFLMAO! :)

For me it has to be 'Running With Scissors' by Augusten Burroughs closely followed by the sequels 'Dry', 'Magical Thinking' and 'Possible Side Effects'...I was crying laughing reading them, they are the personal memoirs of the author from childhood through to present day and tell a bizarre story.Whether his story is true or not is irrelevant-they are still very funny, well written, intelligent books.

Confederacy Of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole - the characters are just so real and so funny. i actually know ridiculous people like those in the book.

Sedaris is hilarious as is Augusten Burroughs, even when they are not trying to be funny, their sharp wit lets the humor of the situation come through.

I really like the Discworld set by Terry Pratchett. Very funny books. There are about 20 in the set so far, but you can read individual books without reading all of them.

Getting Even by Woody Allen is a book I liked. It's got some pretty funny stuff in it, but you have to be smart to understand some of the humor.

Three Men in a Boat, Jerome K Jerome. Long time ago that I read it but thought it very funny at the time, read it twice. As above, Bill Bryson, even his serious stuff makes you laugh.

If you're looking for stupid humor, there's The Day My Butt Went Psycho and its sequel, Zombie Butts From Uranus, by Andy Griffiths (remeber the s, it's not the same guy as the one on The Andy Griffith show). They are not exactly intelligent, but great laughs indeed. :)

My Life as an Afterthough Astronaut by Bill Myers. I just thought it was funny because the main character, Wally Mcdoogle, is portrayed as a dork and that strikes me as funny because I'm a dork but not as nearly as dorky as Wally.

Sue Townsend's "Number Ten" is hilarious. (because there's Tony Blair in girl's clothes...)
I also like "A Year in the Merde" by Stephen Clarke. (a Brit businessman in France trying to outwit the French)
Two good reads.

Everything is Iluminated is hilarious at the beginning, the butchery of English is a riot.

However, its very somber at the end. But still a fantastic read.
