For the first one:

2 - 8y + 48 = 4y - 70 (multiply term inside the brackets)
-8y - 4y = -70 - 48 (subtract 4y and 48 from each side)
-12y = - 118 (calculate)
12y = 118 (divide by -1 to make positive)
y = 118/12 (now you need to calculate the answer)

Follow the same procedure for the second one.

2- 8y -48 = 4y - 70
-46 = 12y -70
24 = 12y
y = 2

x -2x + 6 = 3x -2x -10
-x + 6 = x - 10
6 = 2x - 10
16 = 2x
x = 8

This really wasn't that hard. It took me about two minutes.
