You need to burp him more thoroughly.
Seriously, it takes a *while* sometimes to get those burps out, and if you don't get all the air out it will come back up as a burp/spit-up.
Trust me, I learned the hard way with my first. :)

well, how MUCH does he spit up? My daughter would spit up, throw up until we switched her to soy. Dos he have reflux? Spit up a lot at one time? Some Drs put the babies on a tiny bit of rice cereal in the bottle. (For the record, I am against solids before 4-6 months.) But, medically, it may be necessary, to keep him from being malnourished. He may need vitamins?

Talk to the Dr. it could be acid reflux. Don't worry they could grow out of it. There are medicines and avoiding certain things that will help your baby. My two older kids spit up alot so I know what your going through. Good Luck.

No, Children who spit up have allergies to what they are ingesting. It is not too late to try to breastfeed your child.
Can you imagine basically throwing up on a continual basis? Mother's milk is best for babies. No other combination of ingredients can compare.
Contact a Le Leche League personnel to help you establish your breast is best milk. Once you get your breast lactated breastfeed the child until he is at least a year old. Best wishes.
You will be glad you did! It is not impossible I knew a baby about this age whose mother had to lactate for the health of her baby and was able to do so with the help of a Le Leache League personnel.
Good luck!
Nothing is more important than your child's health.

Dont feed him so much at a feeding. Use a smaller holed nipple, keep him still and upright for 10-15 minutes after each feeding. Break up his feeding so he gets a couple ounces with a break inbetween. Burp him during feeding.
Anything that might help him keep things down.
Babies spit up. Its what they do, theres nothing wrong with it.

my baby has acid reflux. he has had it since he was 2 weeks old. he is now 7 months old. he is finally growing out of it now. all babies spit up. is yours spitting up or throwing up. mine would throw up the entire bottle right after he ate. but with spitting up, he could be eating too much or it could very well be acid reflux. mine is on alimentum formula. for a while he was on axid for the acid reflux. he is off the medicine now. but also, is your baby on straight formula?? the doctor put mine on cereal at 2 months old. with acid reflux, they need the thick formula in order for it to stay down. for every ounce of formula, add one tablespoon of cereal. mine did better with the oatmeal cereal. the rice cereal was too thick. i would try the cereal in the bottle. but with acid reflux, after your baby eats, make sure that he sits up for at least an hour.

my daughter would projectile vomit every time she drank a bottle and we were constantly switching formulas, finally when she was a year and a half our new doctor told us she's allergic to certain proteins in the different kinds of milk, we finally tried Rice Dreams Rice Milk, and she finally stopped puking and her excema cleared up. ask your doctor before trying it though, it's fat free, so you'd need to find something fatty to supplement it with for a baby that young.

He could just be. I would also try adding a bit of rice to the cereal just enough to thicken it a bit. It helps with spit up. My daughter had pyloric stenosis and Gerd so we delt with a lot of that.
