Everything I've read on the internet says to avoid using coolers like these. They pull power from the 360 itself causing power supply fluctuations and damaging the console.
If possible, try to find one that plugs into the wall and does not draw power directly from the 360.

Get the Nyko Intercooler, I used it and it works fine. Plus, its does NOT void your warranty. It plugs in on the back, so you don't have to open the console and break your warranty seal for any reason! Yes, it uses the same power, so it draws power for itself, but that does not cause any direct harm to the xbox. I still got the RROD after a while, but I am pretty sure the Intercooler helped to extend the life anyways. Plus the RROD is a design flaw, not a power consumption problem, like the other user stated...

Not only do the coolers void your warranty they are a primary cause of the RROD due to power drain, shorting.
DONT use one, just keep the box on a hard surface with about a foot around each side

i would DEFINETLY NOT recommend any of the cooling devices for not only do they void your warranty, but they can also cause problems like automatic shutting down of your console as a result of the power taken from the xbox 360 to work the cooling devices, it may also cause the infamous RED RING OF DEATH!!!
