no you dont have to be a student to rent an apartment. That is just silly

this is a most perculiar question... GENERALLY speaking, you don't have to be a student to rent. But, what property are you speaking about? There are school-owned apartments that are only available to students.

They are "apartments" but they are really more like student housing. They are generally at very affordable rates, because the school is subsidizing housing.

But again, for most property, being a student or not shouldn't affect anything. In fact, being a student for most property would require more paperwork due to lack of income.

You only need to be of legal age...18 or 21 in some states, have some credit and stable income.

You don't have to be a student, but they will want proof of income. They want to ensure they will be paid their rent, and they want some proof that you can do that.
