My husband and I are celebrating our 2nd year anniversary on new year's eve. We are going to be stuck at my grandparents' out in the country. I want to take some time out to just be together. We just had a baby and had a really rough year. I want him to know I love him and for us to feel special. Any ideas. It is hard with other people being around.

We live in Texas so no snow. And the closest town doesn't have a place for us to go. And Austin is over an hour away.

Feed baby and put down for a nap. Ask grandma to keep watch. Go out and take a horse driven slay ride in the snow and country air. Check out the area and see what events they have going on. You do not need to spend lots of money to enjoy each other.
Congrats on the anniversary.

Celebrate before you go out to the counrty! Have someone baby sit and you make reservations at your favorite restaurant, being able to relax without the worry of a baby and just sit back and talk is great! Also, both of you dress up to go out... it helps relieve stress and can "impress" each other again... then maybe go for a walk together or after a nice dinner go somewhere where they are having a "New Year's Eve"- party or event! Congratulations! If you want to do it New Year's Eve in the country, have someone at the house watch the baby- I'm sure everyone will be willing- and you two go for a long walk in the country or drive out to a special spot in the country and share some wine... or something like that! Just make it plenty of time for JUST YOU TWO so all the hassles of everyday life can just be forgotten and focus on the love you two share!

First of all, congratulations! :-) Even though you're going to have people around, is there any way that you can escape to a room and just treat him like a King for a little while? You can massage him for a good 5 - 10 minutes, fawn over what a wonderful man he is, and just give him all the affection he could ever want. If you're goin to be around family, they can watch the baby for just a little while, right? That shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have enough privacy to have a full on sex fest, at least get some good foreplay in there.
