I live in the DFW area and listen to ESPN 103.3 FM regularly. The other day, on the 3-6 show, Galloway and Company (GAC) the great Pat Summerall mentioned he has recently spoke to Bill Parcells. Pat mentioned that Bill said "I'm a Coach". Pat later said that he believes Bill wants to coach again...soon.

Could this mean that Big Bill could make a return to coach in the NFL again? But where would he coach?

Your Thoughts...

He and Pat Summerall are good friends...so Pat calling him 'coach' has nothing to do with a contract.

Pat & Bill were talking casually when Bill referred to himself as a Coach, not an analyst....which makes me believe he wants to coach again.

I have heard many rumors of Big Bill going to work for the Front Office of many teams; namely the Jets or Giants.

Well if he does come back...at least we'll have some entertaining press conferences!

I used to love to listen to his daily coach press conference here in Dallas.

How about the Washington Redskins or San Diego Chargers. The New York Jet and Giants should be looking for a new coach but he has already been there. St Louis, Chicago and Baltimore could also be looking for a new head coach.

I would love to see Bill in San Diego, I am sure AJ Smith would not want him because Bill would insist on control and AJ would not give up control. I don't think Spanos is smart enough to realize what has been done to his team.

I am a huge fan of Bill Parcells, but he will be 67 years old when the next season starts, and he's had a number of health problems.

Also, Parcell's coaching style causes a lot of wear and tear on his body, so I wonder if he's got the stamina to do it. And today's players with their sense of entitlement really get on his nerves.

I'd love to see Bill back, but I don't think it's going to happen. Maybe if he could find the perfect situation, but I just think he'd wear himself out.

From what I have read and heard, he is talking about going to Miami but not as a coach as somebody a little higher up in the organazation.
As for the "I am a coach" statement, it has something to do with a contract that the "coach" had after he left football and before he went to the Cowboys. The announcers could only refer to him as Coach, they would not call him by his name for legal reasons!

He always comes back. He'll coach somewhere for two or three years, retire and then do it all again 2 or three years later. I think he'll eventually coach every team in the league. Maybe he'll start by taking over for Joe Gibbs in Washington.
