I don't think he will come back next year, he said it would be a few years. He will return, but not yet.

You spelled it right.
Cowher will NOT come out of retirement for at LEAST 3 years!
As a Steelers fan, he made it clear that he wanted to spend time watching his daughters (2 in college, 1 in HS) play sports. He spent 15 yrs coaching and he missed alot of their activites.
Also, he's got a cushy job at NBC talking about football without the headaches of being a head coach.

He's got just as good of a chance of coaching the Cincinnati Bengals as the Dolphins or Redskins....... He wants to coach the Carolina Panthers. If I was his influencial friend.... I would tell him to coach the Bengals but I'm a Bengals fan and I'll take ANYTHING that will change the tide there in the Queen city. They're playing like a bunch of Queens.

He will be back coaching next season, I don't think he ever planned to stop coaching. He will go where ever they are willing to pay the most and that he has a reasonable chance to win. He won't go somewhere that the ownership is not committed to winning - i.e. Buffalo.

NO WAY! IF HE COMES BACK, HE COMES BACK HOME! He wont coach another team, in fact he wont coach again. I think all these crappy teams WISH he would go to coach with them, but they arent worthy!
