I am a newbie and I am still trying to figure out how to put my friends' Moms-bracelets together. I thought it would be simple for my friends to have magnetic clasps and that way they would be easier to get on than a lobster clasp. I have another friend who advised against it saying that they are not very secure and knows someone who lost a bracelet because it came apart ( the magnetic clasp) Your thoughts?

As an experienced beader, I am reluctant to trust the magnetic clasps. I honestly haven't known anyone who's had trouble with them, or anyone who really likes them. However, for something as likely to get caught on things as a bracelet, I would recommend a sturdier clasp. I mean, you don't want all your hard work to get lost on the street because of the clasp, do you?
I find the toggle clasp to be the best for bracelets--it holds securely, but is easy to work with one hand. There are also a variety of other clasps that you can work with one hand. One common one is a kind of fish hook clasp. It has a decorative casing and a bit of wire slides into it and catches on a peg inside. Both of these clasps are widely available, and, if I'm not mistaken, slightly cheaper than the magnetic clasps.

1. I hate the lobster clasps on bracelets as you must have someone else fasten and unfasten them.

2. The magnetic clasps have a very nasty habit of clinging to the door of the truck if you even get close to it.

3. I really like the ring and bar type clasps best. They are easy to fasten and unfasten. And best of all, I haven't lost one of these yet!!

My daughter, her mother in law, and my granddaughter all make bracelets and necklaces for me. I have all kinds of fasteners on them.

I would not trust it if magnetism was all that was holding it together. I remember working at a place that required name tags. You could either get the one that had a pin that held it in place or the one that had a magnet that held it in place. Every person who chose the magnetic one had to have their nametag replaced because they were too easy to knock off. They would get the name tag knocked off and not notice it and it would be lost.

it may harm the digicam firmware and the memory card information even though it relies upon on how solid the magnet is. If i replaced into on your place, i could have offered yet another case. a very vulnerable magnet may additionally reason issues exceptionally in case you slide out and on your digicam very near to it.
