Chances are VERY remote.
If it is a pre-recorded CD, then there won't be any viruses on it, and it is impossible to write data to these types of CD's, so it cannot be infected.
If it is a CD-R, that you burned, then its possible but still chances are slim. Just run a virus scan on the CD if its one you made to be sure.

If you original CD, has a virus on the CD. and you put the CD back into your system, yes you will get re-infected. Makes no difference if you purchased the CD, or your burnt the CD.

It can only happen if the virus came from the cd. If it was a store bought music cd then there wouldn't be a virus on it.

It depends, if you were recording it at the time, yes, if it is a manufactured music CD, no. The only time a CD would even maybe get a virus is during recording.

Very unlikely that the virus was written to the CD.... You would have needed to have a Read/Write CD rom and the virus you need to have the logic to find the device and initiate the drivers to write it to the CD... I think you are ok...
You should purchase protection software first..

if the cd had a virus on it and was removed by a virus program running on your system it will be caught by that program and will not reinfect the system but if u are still rolling around with out virus protection like a fool than it will get reinfected. my suggestion would be just trash the cd and find whatever u had again.

Yea it can re-infect it because it has the original virus on it. Part of the virus never leaves the origin (were it came from). It is just like human viruses if some object gave you the flu and it was not cleaned it will give you the virus again.

If it is a store bought CD, you should be fine. If you burned it yourself, it is a bit risky.
