Personally, it never put me off visiting a country that had a different currency. At times it worked to my advantage if the sterling pound was particularly strong, and meant that I had more money to spend in the country I was visiting. Having the Euro doesn't mean that the prices are the same everywhere, it just makes it easier to spot which countries are dearer than others.

I have the Euro in Malaga but I don't travel within Europe and I certainly don't go to the U.K. because the exchange rate is crippling. I think your question should probably be would U.K. benefit from more Europeans visiting if you had the Euro - and the answer is definitely YES. At the moment Spaniards are visiting the States, because although the travel costs are more expensive, it's so much cheaper once you are there. The lack of the Euro is affecting tourism into Britain.

Wouldn't affect much with me. I do say, that one thing the Americans and Europeans did right was the switch to decimal currency. What a pain it is to make change for five pounds, six shillings and four pence from a ten pound note! But then the bloody yanks themselves, for reasons known only to God, refuse to switch to the Metric system which is decimal. The only hard thing about it is converting from the irrational American system to the Metric and vice versa. So maybe, oneday the Yanks will wise up and switch to the Metric system and the bloody Brits will wise up and switch to the Euro! I can only pray and hope! But'll either way, it'll probably require some bloody divine intervention! I'll not hold my breath! However, the answer to your specific question "Would you travel more in Europe" would be NOT AT ALL, because I'm bloody broke! And whether my pitiful income be converted to Euros, Pounds Shillings and Pence or American dollars, it makes no bloody difference! I can hardly afford to clothe my sinful body much less hang out at San Tropez and watch the beach bunnies, or gamble at the casionos at Monte Carlo with Princess Stephanie!

If you lot in the UK had the Euro, I'd go to the UK a lot more often!

No. Currency makes little difference to travel.

No, because i wouldn't be able to afford it. I can still remember how we got screwed when we changed to decimalisation!
