So happy I'm Pagan and don't have to abide by a stupid STORY written by a bunch of sun-drunk old men in a desert and later edited by a PAGAN ruler.

What are you reading? Jeremiah 10: 2-4 speaks of Idol worshipping. Its speaks of cutting down trees to make Idols not Christmas trees. You need to look at Jeremiah 10 2-5

yea. i'm a christian. And I already have my fake christmas tree up. And I looked up jeremiah 10:24 and it says nothing about a christmas tree. Its stating what Jeremiah Prayed. Because so many ppl were commiting Idolatry that is caused destruction in the world.

Getting a bit wrapped up in that single book, Love...What happened to that open-minded little Chickie???

I just moved into a really cute little chalet this week, and my two sons want to do the tree shopping and I'm letting them have at it...sooo, no tree as of yet...but it will come. And since all of my past decorations were destroyed by mold or lost during my guys moving last year, I'm having all the little ones I know make ornaments for our tree, and my friends are joining us in celebrating my daughter's & my new place and the holiday season--I am doing the food spread, and all they have to bring is a decoration/ornament that they already have and a piece of wood for the fire...should be fun...looking forward to it all.

By the way, Christmas was originally a Pagan holiday, as are most Christian celebrations...interesting, huh??? But, with all the cultural diversity, it has simply become a season to celebrate life & love...keeps one out of the winter hum-drums, and what a great reason to say "Happy Holidays!!!!" to everyone you encounter...

Enjoy Every Day...they're all good!!! Listen to those soul sounds, Sweetness...hope they ring in a great New Year for you!!!

The Christmas tree, usually a pine, has a traigular shape, which was used by Martin Luther to describe the being of God three persons in one, therefore there is nothing wrong with it because it symbolizes God's trinity.

BTW what version are you using because Jeremiah 10:24 in mine doesnt say anything about a tree.

Re: In response to the edit, I believe that is talking about Idols and about "worshiping trees" which, well, we don't. Merry CHRISTmas :)

Jeremiah 10:24 says nothing about a Christmas tree!

Read it yourself:
"24 Correct me, LORD, but only with justice—
not in your anger,
lest you reduce me to nothing."

24 So correct me, LORD, but please be gentle.
Do not correct me in anger, for I would die.

What in the world does that have to do with a Christmas tree?

3 Their ways are futile and foolish.
They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol.

Ok, Jeremiah 10:3 talks about cutting down a tree to carve an idol. Once again, what does that have to do with a Christmas tree?

Your information is incorrect.. there is no such scripture by Jeremiah stating anything about the Christmas tree. Best Wishes!

I sure have! And I've never put a Pagan Xmas tree in my home. They've all been Christmas trees.
Jeremiah 10:24 is part of the BIBLE and as such was written by MEN, not Christ. The Bible's word is WORTHLESS in Christianity.
Merry Christmas!
Edit: Ok, at least that verse makes sense. However, the very first line invalidates it: "The Lord says". Again, written by MEN.
