I have the WORST cold and this cough is killing me. Sometimes it even makes me throw up. But when the coughing and sneezing is intense, I do leak some urine. I know most women say to use pantyliners but my inner thighs are chafed right now (sorry for all the details yall) so the only comfortable panties I can wear are thongs and pantyliners won't stay on. Any suggestions? I'm worried about leaking too much while I'm at work all day....

Wow surprisingly no, I didn't know that the urine came from somewhere else. You might say my mom & I weren't close. She never even taught me about tampons my ex's sister did. I had always taken them out to pee when I was on my period. I hadn't been in the feminine hygiene aisle in a while (I have an abnormal cycle as it is) so I'll have to check out the thong pantyliners. Thanks for the chafing solutions too. I've tried (still trying) Robitussin for my cough but I'll try the Vicks too.

no you can't use a tampon, and i don't think a tampon is going to catch urine. don't they make liners and pads for thongs? try wearing booty shorts.

First of all, a tampon isn't going to stop urine. Totally different location. Secondly, absolutely NOT. Tampons are a big no-no during pregnancy, too much risk of infection. You're not even supposed to wear them for your post-partum bleeding. Either wear some panty liners, or have lots of changes of undies. They do make liners that fit on thongs now, just an FYI. You can also get lotion in the feminine hygiene section that will coat your skin and relief the chafing.

For the cough, try some Vick's Vapor Rub and Robitussin (both pregnancy approved my the majority of obs)

YIKES! I saw your add. No, hon, when you pee, you don't have to take out your tampon. Please don't take this the wrong way, but go to the library and pick up a book on female anatomy. Every woman should know how her body works and why things happen. Good luck with your pregnancy and feel better soon!

No, tampons are not recommended to wear while pregnancy. It can lead to infection and technically...unless you're sexually active and aside from pap smears, you are not supposed to have anything in your vaginal cavity while pregnant.

You might want to try a sitz bath since you are chafed and lotion. Or, lay in a warm bath. Also, they sell pantiliners specifically for thongs or try your best to wear some comfy cotton underwear. Just some things we can't do while pregnant.

Also, since this is related to urine flow, try some kegal exercise (what you do when your stop peeing...the same muscles). Start with 10 a day and gradually increase every day. This will help stop you from leaking urine in the future when you sneeze or when the baby's pressure gets to be too much. Also helps with labor. I started doing them before I got pregnant and have not leaked urine at all and I'm due in two weeks.
Best of luck!

Your pee does not come out of the same place you would put a tampon. You can normally still pee with a tampon in right??

I recommend getting the Monistat anti-chafing gel (ask he pharmacist where it is in the store)l, it is a silicone cream you rub on your inner thighs where the liners are rubbing and it will stop that nasty rash for you. Here is a site about the cream: http://www.soothingcare.com/soothingcare/request_sample_buffer.htm

They have pantyliners for thongs I use carefree and they come with wings. Try using some powder for the chafing. (Vagisil is a very good powder and it reduces odor from sweating and will help with the urine smell)

A tampon won't help you. The tampon goes in a completely different place then where your urine comes out.
You'll have to use a panty liner. They make them for thongs now.

I'm not sure how you managed to get pregnant if you don't even know where urine comes from.

NO! you cannot wear tampons when you are pregnant it could cause an infection. Any way urine come out of your urethra, not your vagina where tampons are placed, if you put one in it woudlnt help with your situation any way. You can panty liners that are made for thong underwear, you can get them at any grocery store.

Don't you know where tampons go? Tampons do not go where your urine leaks out of, that would not matter! Only use pantyliners and pads, tampons are not allowed during pregnancy at all!

Tampons won't absorb leaked urine! Throw some powder on your poor thighs and use pads or liners.
