first of all, are you entirely sure that this is the ex wife's doing or simply the children really not liking you? could be either one, could be both. the father needs to talk to the kids (without you!), set some ground rules of common decency and respect towards you because you are in his life, but also to see exactly why and where these children are getting their ideas. it may in fact have very little to do with the ex wife, and just their own way of coping with their parents divorce and their mother's replacement in their dad's life.

Are the kids robots? Can they not see you for who you are? No, you and your husband need to stay out of it and provide a loving home for them when they visit. These kids didn't want the divorce and it's pathetic that the mom acts this way. They'll see her for what she is and see you for what you are. Don't allow the kids to run you down, but let the mom act like a creep if she wants.

Yes he should, but whether it will have any effect. . . . It should be a simple request that she not speak of you dergoatorily. And you should consider your relationship with him. Since he has children, you're going to be just as "stuck" with her as he is. Is there history, such as did he cheat on her with you, or have you even met?

Probably he should have a talk with the kids. This is a form of Parental Alienation syndrome...... Very sad and very common. If she knows it gets to you or to him, she will escalate this behavior.
