Have you considered a new TV?

It was only designed to last 10 years, feel lucky it still works. The inside of a CRT(tube) has a silver powder lining on it. As time goes by it starts to fall off the screen. In the old days the TV repairman would "de-gaues" the tube. This was nothing more than an electro-magnet that he waved in front of screen to get some of that silver back in place. Also , there's a "focus block" on back of CRT to keep picture in focus.Lastly theres a "high voltage transformer" or "flyback" that gets weaker after time. Ask Santa for a new TV , it's time.

Dude it's a 20 year old TV regardless of repairs, it's probably just on its last legs. Hit up craigslist and replace it, with HDTVs gaining popularity you can find some really nice last-gen TVs for a steal.

It is the main picture tube. It will soon die. Sorry, but that is an old TV.

Get another TV, it will probably cost least than you would pay to keep fixing the one you have. You are going to damage your eyes trying to watch that.
