Denial. I don't think that there is a special term for it. It is usually a symptom of a disorder, not a disorder itself.

I like the reason as to "why" they do this....and, it's by "choice", so, on purpose...stems from fear of accepting "truth" (even though they know it's true..) real deep issue...self infliction...or(punishment) others might say.."cut their nose off to spite their face" hummm......i'll leave it at that...
