What! well if your parents had aborted you, you wouldn't have had the chance to ask this awful question.

A fetus gets a heartbeat at 18-25 days after conception. A heartbeat tells me that it is a living human being even if it can't live outside the womb yet. That heartbeat is there long before your next period comes so by the time you find out you are pregnant the heart is beating and everything about the body is forming. God decides when to abort a fetus, it's called a miscarriage. You miscarry because something is wrong with the baby. Since the fetus has a heartbeat where is the heart of the person who aborts it? The only time I would believe abortion should be allowed is when something is very wrong with the fetus (deformed) or will cause harm to the pregnant woman or it is a child who has been raped and gets pregnant and having the child would endanger the child but the abortion should be done by a qualified doctor. A friend of mine had an abortion when she was 16. She is now married and has 2 boys but she has NEVER forgotten the child she aborted. She had a very hard time dealing with it after it was done and that was 27 years ago and she still can't let it go.

Last time I checked, a fetus was human, I mean it is not canine or serpant right???
Your right though... why is it a debate? We keep people on ventilators when the chances of them breathing on their own are good, why can't we borrow the mothers uterus until the baby is born?? I am sure if there were means to keep a fetus alive (notice i said KEEP a fetus ALIVE) outside of the mother's womb, then we would be doing that instead of letting them have abortions!! It is legally and morally wrong but because our politicians are so worried about getting the majority of the vote to be elected into office, they beat around the bush and make statements that are either nuetral, or what they think we want to hear, not what they truly believe!!

If you want facts about abortion this link is very awesome, since you are interested in this subject.
http://www.justfacts.com/abortion.asp
I'm all about babies having the right to live.
"We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal."
A woman can do whatever to her own body, but when it comes to abortion they are messing with another person's body. It's not actually defined as murder because it's not illegal killing. But we call it murder when during the Holocaust people killed Jews, it was legal to do so at the time but we still call it murder. Because in actuality it was, even though it wasn't illegal. The forceful taking of another life. Genetically it's a human, they have moods and move on their own. They cannot survive outside their environment just yet because they are not fully developed, but that doesn't mean they're not human. A preborn human being has nerves, a brain, a heart beat, bones, guts, and moods. They feel pain at an early stage. They move on their own, they are just developing. The embryonic sack inside the uterus is their natural environment. Nothing is viable outside it's natural environment. It'd be like placing you on Mars, you wouldn't survive.
Only 1 % of abortions are from incest or rape.
The fetus is human in both appearance as well as in their personal NATURE. Maybe what you are thinking of is a zygote or an embryo, which is also alive and human according to medical science.
Abortions are also very dangerous for women, more dangerous than actually giving birth, that is a FACT. (read the link)
The baby didn't choose to be there, but since it got there it has a will to survive. Did you know that during an abortion the fetus even at an early stage of development is frightened and fights against the instruments? The heart beat speeds up drastically in a panic state! What is wrong with the world these days, why do women kill the sweet blessing that is living inside themselves?
Many people can't have babies and really want them. Why not adoption instead of abortion??? At least then the child would be alive and have a chance to breath in the air and experience life. 9 months out of your life is such a small time to give someone their WHOLE LIFE. Abortion kills, enough said.
Also, I was raped around 50 some odd times by my dad. If I got pregnant I would NOT have aborted it. I was 12 at the time, raped a lot and it was incest yeah, but it's not my life to tamper with. I would've given the baby up for adoption, babies are pure and innocent. Such a pure life shouldn't be sacrificed for a "social life." No life should be sacrificed for a social life. It is another being not your body, it's someone else's body. Killing is killing!

Yeah FoxyMama, it's really sad what Bryan posted. Unfortunately it's true... I like what he posted because it is a fact that is harshly over looked.

A fetus isn't human? That's news to me. Last time I checked, two sources of HUMAN DNA combining together, even in the form of dividing cells or a zygote-embryo, IS HUMAN.
Do your research, seriously. This just makes you look ignorant.
OH, AND... BY THE WAY... the "fetus, not a human" you speak of has a VERY HUMAN heartbeat by 4 weeks after conception and guess when most abortions occur.... between 8 and 12 weeks... WEEKS after the heart is formed and beating and the brain is formed.
Have you ever witnessed abortion video clips? You should google it. See what you find.
I can tell you this much: It IS HUMAN! You see little fingers and toes, a head, a ribcage, a backbone.
Ignorance MUST be bliss, but man, it sure makes people look stupid.

As you see, the debate isn't whether killing a fetus is ok, but really the philosophical question of when does life begin and what makes us human. Some say that once the spinal cord is developed we are human while others argue that even before conception we are human (those people generally believe you shouldn't use contraception)
So the debate actually is not whether to kill a fetus, but when does life begin.
So for those that believe that upon conception you are a human, they believe abortion is killing a human. While those that do not, believe that they have a right to choose.
Thus the argument will continue for the perpetuity of humanity.
This is obviously a black and white drawing of the issue, but hopefully it helps a bit

ok right here is the way i glance at abortion and why I evaluate it killing a human existence. human beings have self belief that earlier the fetus is of the size and age to stay exterior the womb on this is very own that this is no longer a real individual. this is why abortion is merely allowed as much as a undeniable think approximately being pregnant. however the way I see this is that the fetus is already a real individual, merely one that is on existence help. the mummy's physique is that toddler's existence help using fact the toddler can no longer stay exterior the womb yet. merely like a individual in extensive care could have an IV and be on a ventilator (their existence help). and you do no longer in basic terms pull the plug on somebody who has an excellent gamble of surviving.

IT'S A BABY!!!
In September 1993, Brenda Pratt Shafer, a registered nurse with thirteen years of experience, was assigned by her nursing agency to an abortion clinic. Since Nurse Shafer considered herself "very pro-choice," she didn't think this assignment would be a problem. She was wrong. This is what Nurse Shafer saw:
"I stood at the doctor's side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby's heartbeat was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby's body and arms, everything but his little head. The baby's body was moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the baby's head, and the baby's arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall. Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby's brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever seen."
But what about if the baby had been aborted at a younger age.. say 6 weeks? When the baby is this young, doctors use the Saline Method, where they inject a salty saline solution into the mother's womb. You would think it would just poison the baby, but it actually burns it to death. Even though the baby is so young, on ultrasounds of the abortion, the fetus is seen pulling away from the poison as it is injected.. obviously wanting to stay alive.(The baby is intelligent enough to move away from the pain..but the child can't escape it)
Think about that before you say that unborn children can't feel pain.
PASS THIS ON IF YOU BELIEVE ABORTION IS WRONG.
Life is life, no matter how small.
A baby cries for it's first and last time when it's aborted
You can deny but its true.
A baby is a living thing. thats like killing one of your friends!!!
ITS A BABY, NOT A CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A fetus is already human, it already has all of the chromosomes it will ever need, and even though not everything "shows" yet, physically, its all there and being formed....the fetus is alive, and if a human...and for u to doubt, there's something wrong with you.
You need to get your information straight, you'll always be stupid if you don't know true facts.

Killing huh? A fetus huh? What kinda fetus? A zebra fetus? A cow fetus? Oh, you mean a people fetus! Well, I'm just enough of a simple minded religious bigot to think that you are a callous murderer. I do agree that there really is nothing to talk about though.

There is debate because some people believe a fetus is or will become an individual and deserves our protection. My mind and heart, and even science, say this form of life is an immature human that can't defend itself from abuse. If you have respect for any form of life, you'd have respect for this one.
