Are there local schools or community colleges that might take them?

If they are truly very old and can't be used for their original purpose, maybe you can find an electronics school or "hands on" museum like COSI that will take them so their students or patrons can practice taking them apart and reassembling them.

Make sure the hard drives are REMOVED and DESTROYED.

Otherwise your company could face some serious liability and/or legal issues.
