If you don't have a license, why would you have a car?

You have no money, so you can't buy a car, that you can't drive because you've never taken a lesson and have no license TO drive... And the problem is?

You were held back in Kindergarten? So? You passed into 1st grade, and apparently every grade since...although your abuse of the English language would tend to indicate that that was because of the US Dept of Education's "No Kid Left Behind" program, not because you actually legitimately passed the intervening grades between then and now.

Sarcasm aside...Finish School... An actual High School Diploma carries more weight than a GED. While doing that, re-wire your attitude. Success in life - unless you manage to beat the 1 in 14,000,000 odds of a major lotto win, involves life-long learning. Most learning occurs in books or classes (or in hideoulsy overpriced "Seminars").

For your immediate concerns, you can sign-up for a class almost every school in Canada or the US offers...it's called "Driver's Education." In short, someone willing to teach you how to drive! Since said class is offered to any teen attending school over the age of 16...why have you not signed-up and taken it?
As for your cash situation...GET A JOB! Who cares if it's minimum wage! (Which if you drop-out, almost every job you will ever get will be just that!) Get the job, and work! Don't expect to be handed the world on a silver platter, unlike the way most kids today were raised, there is always a winner and always a looser, so you'll have to learn (there's that word again!) to deal with it!!!

Short of becoming a permanent looser (welfare or a life of crime), you are going to have to work for a life, and work hard at it!

I honestly wish you all the luck and success that you are willing to go out and EARN!

I know how you feel totally and forget what those other jerks are saying. I have a learning disability and a memory disorder. I know what it is like to get held back and to feel helpless. what you can do is try to find a part time job close to you so you can walk or bike there. it wont be much but you can try it. You can either finish High School which looks better on your resume or you can get your GED. That is up to you. And I would talk to a counsellor or even your dad and just try to get some help. It's tough on your own. I am 19 and was basically told that my best option is to live with my parents and then move into a home where doctors monitor me and help me remember to eat take my meds and all the other things I forget. I know it is tough but there is help just start calling and asking around. ask people at school too.

Go for your GED if you don't feel you want to wait another year. Get your education so you can get a job, money, a car. While uneducated people have become successful, it's rare. Whether you go to college or not, you must have a high school diploma. Then if you don't want to attend college, try a vocational school. They have scholarships. Since you're 18, check into whether you can get a driver learner's permit without a parent. In my state, you pick up a driver's manual from the licensing bureau, study it, and take a test. Perhaps an adult friend (a mature one) or relative will teach you to drive. Don't give up.

Well, Hi! I am 24 and I also want money! LOL. Ok, here's what you do... You suck it up. Life, as you will find out, is full of bite the bullet situations. You're 18 and a junior in high school? Congrats! You have one piddley year left to get your "money" situation in gear. You should be VERY happy about that. You are in a fairly sweet situation. You don't have to worry about exciting topics such as rent, flood insurance, car insurance, health insurance, water heaters and of course electric and water bills. Fun, fun, fun. Ok, so what you do is get a job. I rode my bike to McDonald's and worked every weekend and as many weeknights as I could and still go to school. If you want money and a car badly enough, you will do anything for it. Start there. Then, get a friend or a bus or your bike or your trusty feet to get you to your local DMV. You're 18, you can go sign up for your permit and whatever other hoops they make you jump through. Get that and while you are still in high school, practice driving and let the required amount of time lapse before you can get your (drumroll) DRIVER'S LICENSE!!! The most important thing is to finish your senior year. If you don't, you will NEVER, ever in a million years make a comfortable living for yourself. Did I say NEVER? Unless, of course, you develop the next Singing Fish on a Plague and sell a million to every hillbillie with a credit card. So, take this opportunity of living with the parents to get your money in order. Buy a reliable car when you save your money. A reliable AND cheap car. NO BMW's OR MERCEDE's!!! You will not be able to afford maintaining the sucker, and it's not worth it at this point. Now, you have a car (and car insurance) your main goal is to get yourself in college. Community college is a great start. Close to home. Don't go nuts on student loans to buy yourself a cruise to Alaska or the most expensive Mac Book they sell. Use it for classes and books. You are still working at KFC (or wherever) by the way. This is not a time to be picky about your car, job, etc. You can do that when you score an internship and possible paying job with NASA and everything is going smoothly. You are not MEANT to have tons of money from the age of 18 to about 25 or even later. I swear. Now, you can take it or leave it, and I am sure you are making excuses to the effect of,"Well, my dad won't teach me to drive. Oh, my life sucks. All I want is an easy way to make lotsa money..." Spend your cash you find between the seats of the couch to buy lotto tickets if that's the case. If you REALLY wanna get yourself straight, take this sorry excuse for an outline and roll with it. You'll do fine, and who knows? Maybe you will invent the Singing Penguin on a Plague. I suggest it sing "Jingle Bells". Have a good one!

Hey dude, you got to get an education. Sorry about being held back, but in the long term it won't mean a thing. Get yourself through high school, if you can take some courses in the evening or in your free time at the local junior colleg. But really, if you want money, and I mean real money, not that $8 an hour at a fast food place, you need an education. Just chill out and take it day by day. Over time you'll get your act together. Get involved in your community too if you can doing some sort of volunteer work. Really, get busy! Good luck man!

You don't need a car to get a job. Find one within walking distance. If your dad won't help you learn to drive a car, once you have saved money take driving lessons or find a trusting friend to take you out in the country/large empty parking lot to practice. Do not quit school, it's just one more year- you can do it. I don't care what people say, I still think a high school diploma looks better than a GED and you'll be better off. Also, check into alternative schools in your area, Job Corps, etc.

The only thing you can do is get a job ... even part time in a store would be a start.

It might be not what your parents want but at least then you'd have some financial freedom - so you could have lessons from a driving school

Uhhh. Take matters into your own hands. Get a friend to teach you to drive or perhapes your mom, uncle, cousin, aunt. Being held back in K is nothing, it happens to people all the time. You've only got one more year and that year is going to come whether you like it or not and you can either graduate or be a permenat LOSER!!!! Go mow a yard, clean out gutters, many single women need a handy man. THINK!!!!!!!

Is there a way you can either bike, walk or take the bus to work? If not, how about looking for a job near where a friend works and bum a ride from them in exchange for some gas money?

You can take your GED and go to college or get a job, or even both.
That way you are not held back a year. GED is just as good as highschool diploma. I got mine and just graduated from College with a B.A degree this year.
