They have no idea how much that betrays them. I think that those who are most like that show their vulnerability without being aware of it. I think someone who isn't so sensitive wouldn't be 'defensive' about it...rather, they'd just be cool, calm, and collected, and not to mention just and willing to be understanding and Not assaulting of the other person........

I just really hate when someone is really easily offended. lol. I guess that goes along with what they say about u hate in others what u hate most in yourself, because, truthfully, I hate it when someone has offended me..........I myself don't know whether to be hostile about the situation, like I feel that they deserve, so that they can feel bad like they made me feel bad..but usually I end up withdraeing from reacting that way and TRY to be cool, calm, and collected about it, lol..and Not offended. Emotions just get in the way, argh. Lol. Well, so tell me what you think......does it annoy you when someone is 'defensive',

No it does not bother me but I take care in what I might say to that person. Someone who gets easily offended and finds a need to be defensive has issues that stem from their childhood. They probably come from parents who had no idea how to help their child build self esteem and were probably critical of them as well. As a person matures, they are able to shed the need to defend themselves on a regular basis because they have had the time to identify in themselves what their qualities are and have built self esteem using the tools we as civilized people have given them just for being a part of society.
