have a router on the table top, for the lap top ,
printer is hooked to table top cp,

You can do this without any additional hardware.

1. Make sure that your laptop and desktop are members of the same Workgroup.

2. On the desktop computer, right click on the Printer icon and turn on sharing.

3. On the laptop computer, Add a printer and select network printer.

You should be able to find the desktop printer.

You should then be able to print.

Note: The desktop PC will need to be on in order to print.

You Need Some Sort Of Computer Chip For Your Laptop And Your Printer.

if you have a usb cable for the printer, you should be able to use the cd for the printer to and the cable to connect your laptop to the printer. hope that helps.
