The easiest and fastest way is if you go to the county court were you got married and then they will ask you to fill out a form and they will ask you to pay a fee and you will get it in the mail.

Some states has the file online, it will include all the basic information, the filing dates, the disposition date and all the motions involved and yes, this is free. For a more indepth look at the file you'll have to visit the courthouse and pay a per page copy fee. It is worth it if you need proof of some information. Also when you visit the courthouse it would be easier if you have the case number. If not hopefully you found it online. I have not had to request a file that I didn't know the case number but since it's public knowledge then you shouldn't have a problem.

If you are one of the parties of the divorce you can get copies of the records sometimes for like 50 cents a page. if you are not the recorders office usually has a computer you can use to look at the documents but you can't leave with anything.

Well, mine cost me a retainers fee for my divorce lawyer lol..........but my hubby was divorced in the late 70's and had lost his papers so we had to obtain a certified copy inorder to apply for a marriage license & get married...cost him a small fee ( I don't recall the amount) ask the county clerk's office in the county the marriage took place....you may even be able to do it over the internet, which my hubby did....Good Luck
