Separate arguements here. to take the "endowed by our creator" out of the constitution would require an amendment to the constitution. The constitution itself can not, by definition, be unconstitutional. Therefore any change as specified in the constituion must be ratified by a super majority of the states or by congress. The supremes have already recognized that a reference to God does not specifity which--and is therefore not promoting a state sponsored religion. Won't ever happen--in essence the rulings have already been made.

A State shape can grant rights over and above those granted by using the Federal shape, yet won't be able to 'cancel' Federal rights. So if the conflict is that the Federal splendid courtroom pronounced that a regulation would not violate the 1st replace, however the regulation DOES violate the State shape, then the regulation is unconstitutional. It wouldn't surprise me the Supreme Court is a haven for militant atheists it seems who are hellbent in suppressing the faith of the majority. It is bad enough with ACLU and the absurdly named People For The American Way who attack religious freedom by misquoting the Constitution. Yes it does oppose the setting up of a state religion but the founders did not mean suppress the faith of the majority which is Christian the principles and morals which the USA is founded are Judeo Christian as anybody who does there homework will find out that is of course using non Marxist ( revised propaganda)as there sources .

The Supreme Court isn't set up to make rulings according to whatever 50.1% of people say in an opinion poll, they are set up to rule according to our Constitution and laws.
If the laws or Constitution specifically protect certain interests or minority rights, then they should rule that way.
By the way, for the first 150+ years of our existence, we didn't have the words "under God" or "In God We Trust" on our currency or part of pledges, and we survived just fine. Those were added as part of the anti-Communist hysteria of the McCarthy era, so it's not like we're talking about a storied part of our national tradition here.

The word GOD does not appear anywhere in the US Constitution
The pledge of alliance was written in the late 1800s by a U.S. citizen who was actually a socialist.
SOURCE: http://history.vineyard.net/pledge.htm
I would think you'd want the words of a socialist to be eradicated.
PS: There is no such case before the Supreme Court. Stop listening to Liar Limbaugh and Fraud O'Reilly or you'll never get the truth about anything.

It is in the liberal ninth circuit court now not the Supreme. If they pass it then it will go to the Supreme.
Its funny how they can take land from a few for the just cause of the most but the most can't tell the few to go blow eggs.

Where is god in the constitution? The constitution actually prohibits the government from endorsing a religion. By putting god on money and seals of states, the government is endorsing religion and is in violation of the constitution. The government needs to be religious neutral. By doing anything less, it cannot properly take care of all of its citizens.

Why shouldn't they? It was added during the McCarthy era in response to the 'godless red menace' of the U.S.S.R. So what legislation added, it can remove. God is not mentioned in the Constitution, but the Declaration of Independence. Our Constitution ensures the right to practice the religion of your choice, it does ot legislate what religion that should be.

First of all, God is not a religion it is a belief.
Secondly more people should believe in God so we wouldn't have so many nay sayers out there trying to destroy the only thing that gives them life.
