I’ve been discriminated upon like many other folks have—and that is certainly no fun and growing up as a member of a minority has to be lived to be completely understood.
There are many aspect of my Puerto Rican culture that I am not proud of but many of which I feel privileged to be a part of.
All in all I cannot think of another race I’d choose to be largely because I believe there are many pluses and minuses to all races and cultures in one form or another.
If we don’t like what our traditions pass along to us then guess what? You can change tradition although you cannot change race.
Some cultures seem to foster some activities more than others like in sports and academics and so forth.
One of the beauties of human beings lies in their variety of colors, languages, cultures, music, there is both good and not so good things common to all cultures although I would argue that the most beautiful women in the world are from my country but then again that’s just me because I happen to be married to one.

Very interesting question but has deep meaning to it if you really take that question seriously and think about it.
Here is my answer from my little understanding and realization of life.
We are the direct cause of our birth in the present form of our life. Whatever family we have taken birth and whichever race it may be , are solely based on our past actions.
Scriptures say that at every passing moment of our life we are actually building one stepping stone for the next form of our body in the next life.
We all are children of God and to distinguish among ourselves based on bodily features.color make God very unhappy but due to our faulty desires and imperfect senses we often do it.
We should elevate ourselves from these differences then the real happiness will come in our heart.
To answer your question : We all should be happy that we got a human form of body because ONLY in this form we can elevate ourselves and realize our real form of identity, that we are spirit souls and we should aspire for a spiritual body that never falls. You must make a self inquiry , "Who am I ?" Am I this body ? If not , why I am here and suffering and going through a forest of miseries ?
If you have a sincere desire I am sure you will get an answer soon because the Lord is constantly listening your thoughts and if you turn towards him , I am sure he will guide you to find the answer that will make you eternally happy.

I'm white and I have never wished I was another race. I have thought before that it would be better to be male as far as opportunities go.

I agree Beth, I'm black but I've wondered what it was like to be a male but a white one. Gosh, that must be like going through life with one open door after another. No serious obstacles of any kind..complete easy street (sigh).
