I personally don't think there emo.
I don't even belive in the word ''emo it's stupid.
People call them that so called ''Emo probably because...
They always wear dark black colours.
The lead singer puts on make up or all of them?
They all look kinda depressed.
Maybe the way there music sounds, kinda sad or weird.
I don't really know but emo is a wetard word.

I'm with Indie Me on this one. Bands get labelled as emo just because they look a certain way. Emo is about the lyrics and often the way the singer sings the songs. I prefer to judge music by how good or bad it sounds and not by the label someone put on it. There are good and bad emo bands just like there are good and bad examples of bands in whatever genre you pick.
Oh, back to the question (!) I don't think MCR are emo at all!

They basically started the whole mainstream 'emo' genre over the last few years.
They've just seemed to adopt the 'emo' label.
....they also just plain suck.

Happens all the time; a trend becomes well known, scene kids take it over & it implodes. Next trend....

but eh you can see my other rants on this subject. i still have no idea why people can consider them emo. i mean if you really really listen to the songs you can clearly see they arent emo.

but i really dont label too often.
but seriously, i've watched an interview where Frank and Gerard discussed this--they had no intentions of being "emo" and they see it as a dead scene.

4. Whiney lyrics
5. Pop-punk guitar riffs (very easy to play)
6. Ridiculously long song titles
7. Make remarks on stage that question their sexuality
8. Fans are primarily made up of 14 year old girls
9. Claim they aren't emo

I like emo personally and i think they are emo because they love black but i cant complain because if you open my wardrop dozens of black and red clother will fall out. True story!!!
