You can't choose and pick which update you can have. You can only have the most current update. To my knowledge, I don't think you can go back to previous updates. Which PS3 do you have? The 60 gig and 20 gig have the best backwards compatibility compared to the 80 gig.

You need to download every update that comes out, not just a few every once in a while. Sony has added a whole lot of stuff to the PS3 since you have probably last updated it.

I have the 60GB PS3 also and the reason why you cant play the Terminator game is because your PS3 isn't updated enough. The 60GB PS3 is compatible will nearly all PS1 and PS2 games. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that if you download the 2.01 update, it will have all of the other updates installed as well.

Also, certain PS3 games require that the PS3 is updated to the latest software version, so you will have to update the PS3.

Go to http://faq.eu.playstation.com/bc/ for a list of all the games that are compatable with the latest firmware update. You cant downgrade your firmware so I'd suggest waiting for the next firmware update, or just play the game on a PS2
