im 8wks although been told 3times ive miscarried and even been through surgery for a suspected eptopic, which wasnt!my HCG levels have been rising at a low 60% which they wernt happy about. after the op, they dropped from 850 to 590.they said it now looks like im miscarrying and had more done today to see if they are dropping as they should. Instead of dropping, finact they've gone up slightly to 646. i know this is not 'normal' and they want to dissolve any tissue that could be in my body...but somethings still telling me to hold on. these levels at 8wks are really not good, but i cant let go everytime i get a positive.please, can someone help! x

You know you're body, so my advice, stick with it for now. If you were originally carrying twins and one 'dissappeared' then that would explain the fall and rise. Technically the lowering show's mc, but the fact that you're rising again is good. I've just read this,
Lower-than-normal levels may indicate dead fetus, incomplete miscarriage, or threatened spontaneous abortion. Pregnancies destined to miscarry or to be ectopic (tubal) pregnancies tend to show lower levels (eventually), but often have normal levels initially. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low levels of HCG ò and deliver perfect babies.

BUT ! ! ! I've posted the link to that site. Also, please remember, every pregnancy for every woman is different, so this is not conclusive. Keep talking to your Dr and/or midwife.

I agree with the first answerer. Those are the symptoms of a vanishing twin. Maybe you've conceived twin and miscarried one of them. Thiswould explain the rise and then the decrease and then the rise again. Hold onto your gut and deand and ultrasound. This is the surest way to tell exactly whats going on and what is in your body. Doctors are paid to know symptoms but you must follow your gut as well, if the ultra sound shows a miscarriage than so be it, but it isn't over until the ultrasound is done and examined. I wish you luck and hope to god you'll have a little bean in the next 8 months.

I've never heard of them dropping, and then going up. Could there be twins. That would explain it if one miscarried. I would go with your gut and hold off. Have they done an ultrasound?? I was told at 6 1/2 weeks that there was no baby when they did the ultrasound. I went for another one that night and there was the baby with it's beating heart. I hope that gives you hope, good luck.

have you had a ultrasound? you should see the baby by the 8thweek of pregnancy!
or it might well be that sadly you have tissue left inside you, and that will falsly make your body belive that you are still pregnant even though you are not.
an ultrasound says more than hormone levels at this stage!
the same thing happened to me last year and it was a missed miscarriage.
im 4weeks pregnant now and had my hcg level tested yesterday they came in at 1025 and progesterone was 68, im going back tomorrow to get retested so fingers crossed for both of us!
i wish you goodluck!

If you didn't have an ectopic pregnancy, then I would wait. If nothing else, your body naturally miscarries. At least then you would know that you did everything that you could. I would hold off if you have any doubts about it.
