Yes, it was the Steelers who ended their last winning streak. They also went to the superbowl that year!! Now let's shoot some other fun facts out too. The Steelers have only played in Foxboro 2 times since 97.
The last time the Steelers played in Foxboro was 2002. Last time this two teams met during the season was December 9, 2005 in Pittsburgh and the Patriots won!!!! The losses the Steelers have incurred have all been away games. The Game against the Patriots will be an away game. The Steelers may or may not win this game. The only thing that will happen if they do win the game is the Patriots will have 1 loss and still be number 1 in the NFL.

After all it's been 35 years since someone has an undefeated season. The record has stood that long because it's not an easy task.

What does "proven champions" mean? That Super Bowl was 2 years ago, and really doesn't mean much at this point.

I don't think it's out of the question, but it will be tough for the Steelers to win. New England is coming off a couple of stinkers against the Ravens and Eagles, and I think they'll be out to prove something. I'm sure Evil Genius Belichick will be looking to make a statement to the rest of the league, especially given how everyone is now talking about the Pats being vulnerable.

The Steelers will need to play better than they did against the Bengals or Dolphins to have a shot. I'd say Big Ben needs to be close to perfect, or they don't stand a chance.

Yes I think the Steelers will win. they have what it takes to do it. The steelers ended the pats winning streak in 04 and they will do it in 07. What is meant by proven champions is that they are 5 time Superbowl champions, twice doing it back to back. So when and if the pats make that elite club like steelers,49ers, cowboy then talk trash, until then when it comes to steelers/pats it boils down to being 5 time champs and the pats are not.

It's definately a possability. I'm a Pats fan and worried about this weekend. If the Steelers D can pressure Brady and Big Ben has a big game, it could come down to the final drive.

The Pats D seems to bring out Pro-bowl material out of mediocre (and i'm being polite becuase Boller and Feeley should be flipping burgers) so there is no telling what a good quarterback (like Big Ben) can do against them. I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 TD passes and 100+ yards from Parker, but I think the Pats will pull it off because the Steelers have had trouble pulling all of their talent together, ie the Dolphins and Jets games. Also, Moss Welker and Stallworth will give you guys trouble because of your banged up secondary.

Im going to go with the Steelers. They are back on track this year and have a 9-3 record in the NFL. The Patriots started out with energy but you can see that they are getting tired. The last two games they played they only won by an average of ten points. They almost lost to the Eagles and the Ravens.

Proven champions? How so, they can barely beat the browns and dolphins. They cant win on the road, and how many times have the patriots beaten them in the past years. Brady is 4-1 against pittsburg, and the steelers are an overrated team that cant beat the Jets.

I really think they will, yeah. If Philly's defense gives you problems, Pittsburgh's defense will give you more. If you can't stop McGahee, you won't stop Willie Parker. Pittsburgh has exactly what it will take to beat New England, they just have to execute.

... if the referees allow it, anyway.
