between aborting a mentally retarted child or keeping him, what would you choose....
NOTE: I am only 15, this is a health question and i am NOT pregnant, in fact im still a virgin so please nobody think im trying to choose between the 2, i just want some honest opinions here.

i would keep it. i have a brother that has mental retardation . also known as downsyndrome. and he is a joy. and very loving. it was a journey for my mom. but she wouldn't trade him for the world.. and any one who decides to abort a child like this i think is wrong. its a challenge and stuff. but love conquers all and i love my brother to death and wouldn't trade him in to be normal. and he is 23 now. and i just love him.

It depends on the environmental circumstances I'm in.
For example, if I was poor, no husband, and no family/relatives/good friends to help me out at times, then I would want to abort. I simply would not be able to take care of a child like that, since the child really needs 24 hours of total care for the rest of his/her life. As a poor person, I would be struggling just to take care of myself.
However, if I did have the resources...I didn't have to work all the time and I have other people to help me raise the child, then I probably would have the child.

i would never abort a child unless medicaly i couldnt cary it to term im only 11 but i know some mentally retarted people and there pretty nice its not the babys fualt that there retarted i might give it up for adoption if i couldnt suport it but never abort any child what is the mater with you people who want to abort them? you act like they did somthing wrong

I would keep the child. I believe there is a reason for everything and if God wants me to have a retarted child he thinks I can handle it and I will.

Such a child would be totally at the mercy of a cruel world after I died. I'd hate the situation, but I'd say abort.

I vote to keep it. I think it is murder to abort a baby no matter what is wrong with the baby. If I could not keep it I would give it up for adoption.

I would only abort if my doctor told me it was dangerous for me to go thru with the pregnancy.
