some nasty issues which could get onto your laptop that could reason a number of of harm are viruses/malware/spyware/spyware/trojan horses/worms/bots and the checklist is going on. when you consider that there are a lot of issues like this, that's barely suitable which you have some antivirus application for secure practices. those i take advantage of are: a million. AVG loose 8.0 2. Spybot seek and harm 3. spyware 2007 those are all loose classes which you will get. once you utilize all of them mutually, they're going to do away with each little thing you do no longer choose on your laptop. whether they do no longer do away with the virus the 1st time you test your laptop, they're going to the subsequent time you replace and test. i've got not at all had any challenge in this laptop ever when you consider that we've had those classes. verify you run them frequently in case you opt for maximum secure practices. keep in mind, those classes purely do away with viruses as quickly as they are on your laptop. they do no longer avert you from getting them. i'm hoping this has helped.

I have been using the free edition of AVG for a couple of years and I feel no need to switch to an anti-virus program I have to pay for (including upgrading to AVG Pro!). Of course even with an anti-virus software you still have to be careful of e-mail attachments (especially if it's a program or something you don't recognize), and suspicious downloads.

I believe AVG + prudence should be good enough for anyone.

No. There are several free and good anti-virus softwares out there. The one I always recommend is AVG Free from Grisoft. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/

If you already have a virus and need to be rid of it, Norton/Symantec and a number of others have free removal tools and instructions. Of course they hope you will buy their product, too, but you don't have to.

I also recommend installing Adaware and Spybot SD as well ... AND a sensible firewall product, such as ZoneAlarm. These are all free and all do different things. A virus is NOT necessarily the same as spyware or adware!

No. I haven't paid for computer security software for many years. Instead, I use the following. They work as well or better then what is offered for sale. Here are some links for not only anti virus programs, but also anti spyware, and a good firewall.

All of the following are free.

AVG is a free anti-virus that blocks the viruses. It's pretty fast and very efficient.

I never paid for virus protection. There is a ton of free stuff out there.

Also use Firefox or ANY other browser. DO not use IE.

Also be smart about your web surfing.

No. I recommend AVG Anti Virus - they have a free version at http://free.grisoft.com. I've used both the free version and the professional version, and both have done a great job of keeping systems protected.

Nope that's not the only way. Aside from free anti-virus software, buy only legit software and browse only trustworthy websites.

Avast isnt good. Piracy is illegal.

Try AVG Free Antivirus, its incredible. I prefer it over paid alternatives.
